Bioenergy is an umbrella term for "biomass. The biomass term has meant burning of: municipal solid waste (trash), tires, construction/demolition wood waste, crop and animal wastes, energy crops, trees, gas from digestion of sewage sludge or animal wastes, and landfill gas

The Biomass Burner system, can be used with conveyor or rotary dryer, consists of a carbon steel burner enclosure and stack, complete with fire brick and cast able refractory.  A rain hood is optional, but recommended to shield the exhaust during inclement weather conditions.

The burner feed system consists of a single screw conveyor and pneumatic carrying system for cellulose-based or other flammable particulate material such as sawdust. Product from the screw is sent to a radial blade fan designed to pneumatically feed the burner chamber with the pre-dried biomass fuel. 

The cyclonic suspension of the particulate in the hot air stream of the burner fully burns the material, providing hot air for the process equipment. Smoke is only present during start up of the burner.

The screw feeder feed rate is thermostatically controlled by the dryer or oven control system, to maintain the preset set point temperature of the dryer. The feed rate of the auger will change to provide the appropriate mass of biomass for the required energy of the system, modulating much like any other conventional heat source. 

Fuel must be dry to maintain burner operation.  Fuel must be clean fuel, and not contain rocks, and or any other foreign material. Burner is constructed on site.

General inspection of equipment to include:

     Owner’s manuals translation - English to Spanish for Spanish speaking customers. Also, spanish translation is provided to clients during startup and training.

     For New installation - SCLT can help with on-site supervision and startup.

     Instrument Controls - SCLT also can offer PLC control assistance by providing one of our qualified associates. 

     Burners - Due to amosphere being contaminated with oils, dust and other air born FM internal workings of burners can become damaged after a long period of time.  Inspection of the burners becomes a must to insure long life and good operating order. Let SCLT either rebuild and/or instruct your maintenance on rebuilding procedures.
